Tragic event in the University of Texas. A gunman, again.
A new tragic and terrible event in the University of Texas campus in Austin.
On Tuesday a student of the school came to the campus armed with an AK-47 and opened fire.
Soon after he reportedly took his own life after running into the school library.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office has successfully identified the University of Texas shooter as 19 year old Colton Tooley. Colton Tooley was a sophomore math major at UT, and is expected to have lived in the 3200 block of Western Drive in South Austin, which is just north of William Cannon Drive near Brodie Lane.
It is not clear what the motivation behind the attack might have been. Officials said that they were thankful that no one besides the gunman was hurt in the incident.
The episode recalls a greater tragedy with Charles Whitman – the killer of University of Texas.
